Welcome to the Royal Indian Hut, a vibrant gem nestled in the heart of Paradise Point, QLD. This Indian restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s an experience that transports you straight to the streets of India. Located at 11/1 Grice Ave, the Royal Indian Hut combines authenticity with a cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for both intimate dinners and family gatherings.
As I stepped inside, I was immediately struck by the warm ambiance characterized by traditional decor and a welcoming vibe—a feeling echoed by several patrons. Thomas Grant's description of the "cool thatched ceiling" and "traditional decor" encapsulated my own sentiments. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by friendly and prompt service, making each visit feel personal.
The culinary offerings at Royal Indian Hut are truly remarkable. The vegetarian cuisine shines with dishes like Veg Jalfrezi, where fresh seasonal vegetables dance harmoniously in a rich cashew nut and tomato gravy, and Baingan Bharta, an exquisite roasted eggplant dish that is both gluten-free and dairy-free. At A$17.99, these meals don't just satisfy your appetite; they tell a story of flavors and heritage.
For non-vegetarians, the Butter Chicken stands out as a crowd favorite. Described by diners like Allan Furlong as "to die for," this dish features boneless chicken enveloped in a creamy cashew nut gravy that leaves you craving more. Thomas also praised the Chicken Tikka Masala, which boasts marinated chicken chunks cooked to perfection with onions and capsicum, creating a harmony of flavors that is a hallmark of authentic Indian cooking.
But it doesn’t stop there; the culinary journey continues with tantalizing options like Garlic Prawn Masala, showcasing succulent tiger prawns sautéed to perfection, and the Goan Fish Curry that presents barramundi fillet in a delightful South Indian sauce, both priced at A$24.99. For a satisfying accompaniment, the naan bread options, including Butter Naan and Garlic Naan, are must-tries at A$3.99 and A$4.99, respectively.
Guests like Kristel Jewell highlight not just the delectable food but also the great value for money and the excellent service. Each mention of returning customers reflects the restaurant’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Rosemarie Graf’s feedback about the improvement in meals and service under new ownership signifies a dedicated effort to uphold the essence of Indian cuisine while ensuring affordability.

Had an amazing meal at Royal Indian Hut in Paradise Point! The food was full of flavor, and the butter chicken was one of the best I’ve had—so creamy and rich. The staff, especially sophie and shaina were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. The place has a nice, cozy vibe with a cool thatched ceiling and traditional decor. If you’re craving great Indian food on the Gold Coast, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

Amazing in every way. We’ve been regulars here for more than 10 years and have been treated more like family than customers. Delicious food and great service but the welcoming feeling is what always brings us back.
